Help with Alcohol Addiction.

There’s another door to freedom.

Not a physical door, but a doorway to a different way of living. A place where recovery is built on understanding, not judgment. Where change happens through connection, not shame. Where people are seen for who they are, not defined by their struggles.

At The Freedom Room Wellness and Recovery, we know that overcoming alcohol and other drug addiction isn’t just about stopping drinking or using. It’s about healing what lies beneath. Our approach is both clinically informed and deeply compassionate. Where change happens through connection, not shame. Where lasting transformation comes from within. Welcome to The Freedom Room.

Meet Rachel Acres & Discover The Freedom Room Difference

My name is Rachel Acres. Fourteen years ago, I made a decision that changed my life forever. I got clean and sober.

What followed wasn’t just recovery from alcohol addiction. It was a journey of rebuilding my life, discovering who I was, and learning that lasting change is about far more than simply putting down a drink or a drug.

Today, I am the CEO and Founder of The Freedom Room and The Freedom Room Foundation. My mission is simple: to bridge the gap between the people who need help and the help they can actually afford.

Over the years, I’ve seen too many people fall through the cracks. Some don’t need residential rehab. Some can’t afford it. Some don’t connect with traditional recovery pathways. Many are left feeling judged, misunderstood, or convinced they should be able to do it alone.

That’s why I created a different approach. A recovery program that focuses on the person, not just the substance.

Stopping drinking or using isn’t usually the hardest part. Most people can stop for a day, a week, or even a month. The challenge is staying stopped. The challenge is learning how to live without needing to escape. The challenge is understanding why the addiction was there in the first place.

We bring together professional expertise, lived experience, education, community, and evidence-based therapies to support every part of recovery. Combining clinical knowledge with a genuine understanding of the challenges people face, we help individuals move beyond simply stopping alcohol or drugs and focus on the deeper healing, personal growth, and meaningful, lasting change that make long-term recovery possible.

How to get sober without going to rehab

Our 12-week program is designed to fit into your life, so you can keep working, stay at home, and take care of your daily responsibilities while you break free from unhealthy drinking patterns and build a life that feels worth staying clean and sober for. We focus on the real reasons behind alcohol use, emotional pain, trauma, mental health, stress and help you build practical tools to handle life without turning to substances.

This is not a one-size-fits-all program—it’s a personalised, hands-on approach built to help you find freedom and stay on track for the long haul.

It’s More Than Just Sobriety

Getting clean and sober is an important first step, but lasting recovery is about so much more than simply putting down a drink or a drug.

At The Freedom Room, we say that recovery is 10% about the substance and 90% about everything else. While alcohol or drugs may be the visible problem, they are rarely the root cause. True recovery is about understanding what was driving the need to escape in the first place and learning healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges.

This is where emotional sobriety becomes so important.

Emotional sobriety is the ability to experience life on life’s terms without needing to numb, avoid, control, or escape difficult emotions. It’s learning how to manage stress, anxiety, anger, shame, disappointment, fear, and uncertainty in healthy and productive ways. It’s developing resilience, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and the confidence to navigate life’s ups and downs without turning to alcohol, drugs, or other unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Getting sober can change your circumstances. Emotional sobriety changes your life.

At The Freedom Room, we help you uncover and address the underlying causes of addiction while developing the tools, mindset, and support needed for long-term recovery. Through education, community, professional expertise, lived experience, and evidence-based therapies, we walk alongside you every step of the way.

Because recovery isn’t just about stopping drinking or using drugs. It’s about becoming emotionally stronger, more connected, and more self-aware, and creating a life you no longer feel the need to escape.

That’s where real freedom begins.
